What’s Bad About Violating the Probability Axioms?
I don’t think that just because one’s credences violate the probability axioms, one is irrational in any epistemically blameworthy sense. I’m even doubtful that failure to obey the axioms is a failure of ideal rationality. Nonetheless, all things being equal, it seems better to obey than to violate the axioms. But why? (more…)
